This museum chronicles a sad and preventable disaster: the holocaust. It is a must-see museum for basically everyone who comes to Washington DC. There is security screening at the door, so there might be a line for that. The exhibit halls were full of people, but it wasn't too crowded. This museum is for mature audiences only. Prepare to be sobered. I recommend reading "Night" by Elie Wiesel before you visit. It's a slim, first-hand account of an Auschwitz survivor. You can read it in less than a day and it will prepare you for what you witness here.
